Podcasting Power Tools

To submit your podcast to the Spoken Word directory, visit:

http://www.spokenword.org/

You have to login or register to submit a podcast, so click “Register”:

Insert your info and click “Register”:

Press “Continue”:

Check your email and click on the link:

You should get this confirmation:

Hover over “Feeds” and select “Submit a Feed”:

Insert your podcast feed and click “Submit”:

Check the box for “Submit Feed” and click “Submit”:

Congratulations, your podcast feed has been submitted:

To submit your podcast for inclusion in the CastRoller podcast database first head to:

http://www.castroller.com/

On the home page click on the “Register” link in the upper right corner:

On the sign in screen, you can login if you already have an account, or click the ”Sign up” link:

Now enter the information to create an account:

When you are finished, click “Create Account”:

Now click on the down arrow beside “Podcasts”:

And select “Add Podcast”:

Insert the podcast URL or URLs in the text box on the right:

And hit “Add Podcast(s)”:

Congratulations, you have successfully submitted your podcast to CastRoller.  You should see the following screen:

To submit your podcast website to the Yahoo search engine, go to:

https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/submit

Click on “Submit a Website or Webpage”:

Type your website’s URL and click “Submit”:

Congratulations, you have successfully submitted your site:

You can also submit your rss feed at the link above.

To submit your podcast feed to the iTunes store directory, open iTunes and select “iTunes Store” in the left hand column:

In the bar across the top, select “Podcasts”:

In the right column, select “Submit a Podcast”:

Insert your podcast feed URL and click “Continue":

Sign in with your iTunes account:

Review your podcast information, choose a category and subcategory, and click “Submit”:

Congratulations, you have successfully submitted your podcast:

You will receive further notification via email.

Click “Done” to be taken back to the podcast section of the iTunes store:

If you submitted the podcast successfully, you should receive the following email:

To submit your podcast for inclusion in the Blackberry Podcast Application, direct your browser to:

www.blackberry.com/podcasts

Scroll down till you see “Submit your podcasts”:

Click on the “Add your podcast today” link.

You will be directed to a login screen:

Don’t fill in the information, but do click on the “Sign up” link.

Read the Terms of Service.  You must scroll to the bottom of the agreement in order to check the “I Accept” box:

Once you check the box, click the “Continue” button:

Now you can fill in your information:

When you are finished, click the “Signup” button.

Now enter your podcast’s information:

In the right column, you can select which countries in which you wish to make your podcast available.  When you have entered your podcast info and selected the right countries, click the “Submit” button.

Congratulations, you have successfully submitted your podcast to the Blackberry podcast app and should see the following confirmation:

Once your podcast is reviewed, you will be notified.

To submit your podcast website to the Google search engine:

• Go to: www.google.com/webmasters/tools
• Sign in with your google account
• Click “Add a Site”:

• Enter your site’s URL and click “Continue”:

• Verify you own the site:

There area three ways to verify:

1. Copy the provided meta tag into your header.  The instructions are self explanatory.
2. They provide a specific HTML file for you to upload to your site root folder.
3. Add a DNS record

You only need to choose one of the three.  The first two are probably the simplest.  Once you have followed the instructions, click “Verify”

When verified, your site will be listed on your Webmaster Tools Home Page with the option to add or remove owners.

Congratulations, you have successfully submitted your podcast website to the Google search engine and it will be indexed soon.
